Every Indian citizen has to commit himself to make India the world's greatest country, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said after hoisting the national tricolour in Panaji Monday.

"Obstacles are being created for our democracy in the form of regionalism, linguistic disputes and border skirmishes. It is sad that attempts are being made to weaken India with these disputes," Parsekar said.

"To make India the world's greatest country, it should not just be the ideal of the prime minister and a few others, but also of all the people living in India," he added.
