CBI Special Judge Sanjay Garg on Wednesday reserved for August 22 the order on a central agency's plea to cancel the bail to former Haryan Chief Minister O.P. Chautala's son Abhay Chautala in a disproportionate assets case.

Abhay went to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil to attend the Olympic Games without seeking permission of the court, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) told the court on Wednesday.

Last week, Abhay through his counsel had sought an exemption from personal appearance on the ground that he had gone to Rio de Janeiro for the Olympics.

The court then asked how could he leave the country without its permission, and sought a reply from the defence and prosecution counsel.

Abhay's counsel apprised the court that being a sports administrator and former President of the Indian Olympic Association, he has gone for the Olympics.

He also contended that no specific condition regarding seeking prior permission to go abroad was imposed by the court while granting him bail earlier.

The CBI opposed Abhay's plea and submitted that he was no longer the IOA President and there was no public interest involved in his visit to Brazil.

The CBI also said that irrespective of any condition imposed, Abhay had to seek the court's permission before leaving the country.
