P.V. Bharathi appointed MD&CEO Corporation Bank

The government has appointed P.V. Bharathi as the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Corporation Bank.

According to the Department of Personnel and Training, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment following a proposal from the Department of Financial Services, under the Union Ministry of Finance.

"The ACC has approved the proposal of the Department of Financial Services, for appointment of Ms. P.V. Bharathi, Executive Director (ED), Canara Bank as MD and CEO in Corporation Bank with effect from the date of assumption of office on or after 01.02.2019 and upto the date of her attaining the age of superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier," the ministry said in an information note.

In another development, the ACC has appointed Birupaksha Mishra, GM, Central Bank of India as Executive Director of Corporation Bank. Balakrishna Alse S., GM, Corporation Bank has been appointed as Executive Director of Oriental Bank of Commerce.

In addition, the ACC approved the appointment of K. Ramachandran, General Manger, Corporation Bank as Executive Director in Allahabad Bank.
