Bollywood actress and former Miss World Priyanka Chopra, who is making India proud on international shores, was on Monday named for the Padma Shri, the country's fourth highest civilian award.
A National Award-winning actress, Priyanka has entertained movie buffs with her performances in films like "Andaaz", "Aitraaz", "Krrish", "Fashion", "Mary Kom", "Barfi!" and "Bajirao Mastani".
She has also featured in several popular Hindi film songs like "Say na", "Desi girl", "Ram chahe leela", "Tune maari entriyaan" and "Pinga".
Globally, she won a People's Choice Award for her international acting debut as FBI agent Alex Parish in American TV thriller series "Quantico" earlier this month. And she was the first South Asian actress to win the honour.
Priyanka is also a singer, who launched her first international single "In my city" in 2012. She went on to collaborate with American rapper Pitbull for "Exotic" in 2013.
