Janata Dal-United (JD-U) on Saturday said India must explore all channels to isolate Pakistan diplomatically and economically on the issue of terrorism as war is always the last option.

"Pakistan should be isolated diplomatically as war is the last option," JD-U senior leader K.C. Tyagi told IANS.

"The government with the international community should put more pressure on Pakistan and isolate it economically," Tyagi said, adding that war is very devastating.

The JD-U's leader remarks came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Pakistan for "exporting terrorism" in the world, during a public address in Kozhikode in Kerala.

The JD-U Rajya Sabha member attacked Modi for "missing a golden opportunity" of giving a befitting reply to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

"The Prime Minister should have taken the opposition leaders to the UNGA and given a befitting reply to Sharif in person there," Tyagi said.

"We cannot understand why he missed the opportunity?" Tyagi wondered.

He said his party is with the government and will support all its actions on whatever steps it takes in relation to the country's security.
