A top militant who was also the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan's (TTP) financier was killed Tuesday in a military operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A security official said that Bakhat Raj financed the group's terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Buner district and the port city of Karachi, Dawn online reported.
Security forces are carrying out intelligence-driven operations across Pakistan during which a number of important militants have been rounded up.
In December 2014, the Pakistan army decided to continue 'intelligence-based operations' against militant targets throughout the country to pre-empt terrorist attacks.
The decision was taken at a meeting of Corps Commanders held at the General Headquarters under the chairmanship of Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
