The Palestinian government has demanded international intervention to stop the Israeli violence "escalation" in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, a media report said on Sunday.
The government urged the UN to intervene and "compel Israel to cease its violations in the Palestinian territories, including the raids and violations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and air-striking the besieged Gaza Strip", Xinhua news agency quoted an official press statement as saying.
Palestinian government spokesman Ehab Bseiso said the latest escalation is a part of Israel's policy to "undermine the Palestinian and international political efforts, destroy the two-state solution and kill any chance for establishing an independent Palestinian state".
The only solution to this conflict is to "end the Israeli occupation to the Palestinian lands, and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with east Jerusalem as its capital", Bseiso added.
