Eight-time champions Palmeiras rose to fourth position in Brazil's Serie A championship with a 3-2 victory over Gremio.
Vitor Hugo and Lucas Barrios scored first-half goals at the Pacaembu stadium on Saturday before Rafael Marques added another just before the hour mark. Luan found the target either side of halftime for the visitors, reported Xinhua news agency.
The result lifted Palmeiras to 44 points, 10 points behind leaders Corinthians, who were due to host Santos on Sunday. Gremio remain third in the standings with 48 points.
Meanwhile, Thiago Santana scored a late equaliser as Figueirense held Internacional to a 1-1 draw in Porto Alegre. Alex Meschini had given the hosts the lead just before halftime.
Despite the result, Internacional rose to seventh with 41 points while Figueirense remained in 18th place on 28 points.
