DMDK legislator K. Pandiarajan Wednesday met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa and submitted a 10-point agenda for the betterment of his Virudhunagar constituency.

In a statement issued here, Pandiarajan said he had realised that it would be a long struggle "...to realise the development vision I had for my constituency. I decided in order to effectively deliver the promise I have made to my people, I need to seek the assistance and support of the government."

According to Pandiarajan, during the last two years, he did his best to raise issues related to his constituency both inside and outside the assembly.

He said during his meeting with Jayalalithaa, he submitted a 10-point agenda relating to his Virudhunagar constituency.

Pandiarajan is the seventh DMDK legislator to meet Jayalalithaa, ostensibly for submitting a memorandum about the work that needs to be taken up in his constitutency.

Founded by actor-turned-politician A. Vijayakant, the DMDK has been facing dissidence.

Earlier, legislators K. Tamilazhagan, R. Sundarrajan, S. Michael Royappan, C. Arun Pandian, T. Suresh and R. Santhi met Jayalalithaa on the pretext of submitting a memorandum related to issues in their constituencies.

While the AIADMK has a strength of 150 (excluding the speaker) in the 235-member house, the DMDK has 29 legislators and the DMK 23.
