Patna railway station on alert after SMS bomb threat

Security was tightened at Bihar's Patna railway station on Wednesday, after police received an unidentified SMS threatening that the station would be blown up.

Inspector General of Police (Railways) Amit Kumar said additional security forces were deployed at the railway station in view of the SMS threat. "Bomb disposal and dog squads have also been deployed to search vulnerable places."

Amit Kumar said the Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police were directed to be on high alert and keep close vigil.

Police officials said a few suspects were detained in this connection.
