Musician Paul McCartney, who was hospitalised here after he was infected with a virus, is now on the road to recovery.
The 71-year-old had to cancel two dates of his Out There Japan Tour 2014 in the country's capital and in Osaka after falling ill with a virus, which eventually led to him being sent to hospital earlier this week.
McCartney has now been discharged from the hospital, reports contactmusic.com.
"Since contracting a virus last week that led to the postponement of tour dates, Paul received successful medical treatment at a hospital in Tokyo," said a source.
"He will make a complete recovery and has been ordered to take a few days rest. Paul has been extremely moved by all the messages and well wishes he has received from fans all over the world," added the source.
The Beatles legend will resume his tour in Texas June 14.
