Brazilian legend Pele who will be in the city as chief guest for Atletico de Kolkata's (ATK) first home game of the second season of the Indian Super League (ISL) will not only be rooting for the defending champions but will be present for the entire duration of the game.
"Pele will be present on the 13th (October 13) for the entire duration of the match, which will be around two hours. He going to spend time with the team and on the pitch," ATK co-owner Sanjiv Goenka told reporters here on Friday.
In a video message, Pele said: "I am very happy to attend Atletico de Kolkata's first home match. I am looking forward to visiting the Salt Lake stadium and meeting the players and the fans, 'fatafati football'."
The soccer legend would also interact with students and educators from NSHM Knowledge Campus, participate in a conversation with former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly as well as attend a gala dinner, that includes a charity sports memorabilia auction.
He would also attend a private lunch.
