Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on Friday urged the people to fight and resist corruption and red tapism wherever these maladies exist in the system.

"It is often noticed that in public offices and other such departments, corruption and red tape exists... which can be removed with a collective resistance against it," Jung said while inaugrating a Conference on Model Building Byelaws-2016 here.

He reiterated that these twin evils could gradually disappear from the system if "resistance" against these comes up "openly from the public".

Jung, however, added that in his three years tenure as Lt Governor so far which he had completed on Thursday, neither corruption nor red tape had ever surfaced.

He also asked the builders and real estate developers to honour their delivery commitments with adhering to their promised finish to stakeholders.

Lamenting the builders do not fulfil their promises, Jung said: "Builders and real estate developers have not been able to deliver on their promises and commitments on these two fronts which cause concern and anxiety to those that have invested in their hopes to attaining dwelling units."
