Islamabad, April 20 (IANS) Flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will get four Airbus A-320 aircraft by the end of this year, a media report said.
Geo News said the first A-320 will join the PIA fleet in June.
PIA officials said two planes will arrive in August, while the fourth will be inducted in November. All the aircrafts are being taken on dry lease, they said.
They said pilots are being trained to fly the new planes.
A dry lease is an arrangement whereby an aircraft financing entity provides a plane without insurance, crew, ground staff, supporting equipment and maintenance, among others. A dry lease bears certain conditions with respect to depreciation, maintenance, insurance, depending on the geographical location, political circumstances and the like.
