Tourists in West Bengal will get all the information they need on state highways at the touch of a button, courtesy a mobile phone app that informs travellers of the traffic situation and amenities along the way.
This has been facilitated by GIS mapping of all state highways done by West Bengal Highway Development Corporation, state government sources said Friday.
The maps will be accessible on the corporation's web site.
The app, as well the maps, can be used to locate hotels, ATMs and more, as well as learn about road conditions before embarking on the trip.
