Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday condoled the loss of lives in Bangalore City-Nanded express train accident in Andhra Pradesh.
"My thoughts are with the families of all those who lost their lives in the unfortunate accident of the Bangalore City-Nanded express," the prime minister said in a statement.
"My condolences to the family of Karnataka MLA (legislator) Shri Venkatesh Naik. He will be remembered for his service to society," he added.
Five people, including Naik, were killed when a truck collided with the express train at a level crossing near Penukonda in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
