Former union minister and PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss was arrested by Tamil Nadu police at his residence here Friday morning, police said.
Ramadoss told reporters that the arrest was an act of political vendetta. He said the AIADMK would not a single seat in the 2014 parliament elections.
It is reported that the arrest was in connection with a speech that Ramadoss made at a public meeting last year.
On Tuesday, Ramadoss' father and PMK founder S. Ramadoss, was arrested for defying police orders and holding protests at Villupuram, around 170 km from here.
Anbumani Ramadoss urged party cadres to hold peaceful protests against the arrests.
Shops and factories in Puducherry have downed shutters following a general strike called by the PMK to protest the arrest of its leader.
