Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan Thursday denied media reports that the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) sought a report on the removal of Sanjeev Chaturvedi from the post of chief vigilance officer of AIIMS.
"These are all rubbish reports by the media. The PMO did not seek any report on the removal of Sanjeev Charurvedi from the post of CVO AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) The ministry had itself submitted the reports to the PMO," the minister told reporters on the sidelines of a meeting of state health secretaries at AIIMS here.
According to the media reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Harsh Vardhan and sought a report on the issue.
Chaturvedi, a Haryana cadre forest service officer of the 2002 batch, was removed from the post of the CVO of AIIMS in August this year, much before the completion of his tenure.
