Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi, along with his team, arrived in Bihar capital Patna on Friday on a two-day visit to review preparations for the upcoming assembly polls, an official said.
After reviewing the preparations, the Election commission is likely to finalise the date for the Bihar assembly polls and may announce it next week, the official said.
Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi, one of the members of the election commission team, told media that the team would meet representatives of various political parties on Friday evening
The team would also meet top officials to district-level officials on Saturday (August 8) to make elaborate security plans for the elections, Zutshi said.
"The EC team would meet representatives of all political parties separately to know their views," he said.
