Football Club Porto announced the extension of defensive midfielder Danilo Pereira's contract until 2022, with a 60 million euro ($64.3 million) termination clause.
Porto confirmed on its website on Thursday the extension of the contract of the Portuguese-Guinean midfielder who, according to Portuguese media, was targeted by major teams such as Arsenal and Manchester United, reports Efe.
Born in Guinea-Bissau, Danilo is playing his second season with Porto, after moving from Portuguese side Maritimo to the helm of Dragons' former coach Julen Lopetegui.
Danilo is now an undisputed starter in the squad of Nuno Espirito Santo, with whom he played 26 matches this season and scored two goals.
