Some anti-social elements defaced posters with the image of Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das with black ink here on Saturday.

Posters with photographs of the chief minister were meant to wish people of the state on tribal festival Sarhul, police said.

The Ranchi Municipal Corporation cleaned the posters.

Police, who were yet to arrest anyone over the incident, said anti social elements might have committed such acts to create tension in the city.

Security has been beefed up in the state, considering that tribal festival Sarhul is on Sunday and the Ramnavami festival next week.
