President Pranab Mukherjee Wednesday congratulated Indian pugilist M.C. Mary Kom and other athletes for winning medals at the 17th Asian Games being held in Incheon, South Korea.
In individual messages to the winners, Mukherjee said: "Your achievement is an inspiration for the youth of our country. The whole country joins you and your family in celebrating this impressive achievement. I wish you continued success in all your future endeavours."
Mary Kom clinched the gold medal in Women's flyweight (48-51 kg) category. Another boxer Sarita Devi won Bronze in Women's Light (57-60 kg) category.
In Women's middle (69-75 kg), Pooja Rani grabbed Bronze, while Varsha Gautham claimed Bronze in Women's 29er category.
In Men's discus throw, Vikas Gowda bagged Silver.
