President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday visited 'Har Ki Paudi' on the banks of the Ganga river in Haridwar in Uttarakhand and performed puja along with his family members.
He arrived on a two-day visit to the hill state and was received at the Jolly Grant Airport by Governor KK Paul, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and other top officials.
Kovind was supposed to take a chopper from the state capital to Haridwar but due to bad weather the programme was aborted and the President drove to 'Har ki Paudi'.
He will also spend some time at the Divya Prem Sewa Mission here.
The President will spend the night at the Raj Bhavan and will fly in an Indian Air Force helicopter on Sunday to visit the Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines. Kovind will return to the union capital on Sunday evening.
