President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among the dignitaries who paid tributes to former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on his 87th birth anniversary on Monday.
While President Kovind paid floral tributes to Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhavan here, Modi hailed the 'Missile Man of India' as "an exceptional teacher, a wonderful motivator, an outstanding scientist and a great President".
"Dr. Kalam lives in the hearts and minds of every Indian," Modi posted on Twitter.
Kalam was the 11th President of India between 2002 and 2007.
