President to attend varsity convocation in Punjab

President Pranab Mukherjee will attend the annual convocation of Lovely Professional University in Punjab's Phagwara Monday, an official statement said Sunday.

Mukherjee will also confer the first honoris causa degree of the university to Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai.

A total of 8,501 degrees will be conferred by LPU, a leading private university in Punjab with nearly 30,000 on-campus students, including scores of students from other countries.
