Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday took BJP supporters by surprise: she shook hands with them as they raised pro-Modi slogans.

The Congress leader, who had arrived in the city to hold a five km-long road show for the party's candidate Pankaj Sanghvi, was leaving the airport when some BJP supporters raised pro-Modi slogans.

The Congress general secretary, who is also in-charge for the eastern Uttar Pradesh, then stopped her cavalcade and stepped out of her black Tata Safari SUV and went among the BJP supporters.

She shook hands with them and said 'aap apni jagah aur mai apni jagah (you are where you are and I am where I am). All the Best'.

The BJP supporters who were taken by surprise at the simplicity of the Congress leader wished her all the best.

The Congress leader then kicked off her road show from Raj Mohalla area of the city accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

The Congress leader earlier in the day also broke security protocol during a public meeting in Ratlam Lok Sabha constituency when she jumped off wooden fencing and got closer to the women party supporters to posed for selfies with them.
