The Odisha government on Wednesday appointed Rajendra Prasad Sharma as the new Director General of Police (DGP).
Also, incumbent DGP K.B. Singh has been transferred as the Chairman of Odisha State Road Transport Corp, said an official notification.
Sharma, who had earlier served as the Police Commissioner for the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Twin City, is now the Director General of the State Vigilance.
"It's a challenging task. I will try to give my best for the post," said Sharma.
Special DG (Crime Branch) Bijay Kumar Sharma has been appointed as Director General (Prisons).
Arun Ray, the Additional DG (Prisons), has been transferred and attached to the Police Headquarters, Cuttack.
