Gandhi, party sources said, would kickstart a slew of railway projects in Amethi. He is also scheduled to inaugurate 10 branches of the State Bank of India at Amethi.

He is to lay the foundation stone for an FM radio channel.

The visit comes two days ahead of the trip to Amethi by AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, who is likely to take on Gandhi in the Lok Sabha election.
