Rahul Gandhi visits cyclone-hit Visakhapatnam

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi Sunday visited cyclone-hit north coastal Andhra and assured people that his party will pressurise the central government to rebuild this coastal city.

Rahul went around Visakhapatnam Steel Plant damaged by cyclone Hudhud. He spoke to the employees and assured them that Congress MPs will fight to make the central government compensate for the huge losses suffered by the plant.

The MP from Amethi said he came to personally see the hardships faced by the people and to assure them that the party will fight till the central government rebuilds the city and they get the relief.

He said it was unfortunate that the beautiful city with a vast green cover suffered the devastation.

Accompanied by Congress leaders of Andhra Pradesh, Rahul also visited other affected areas in the city.

He will also visit other cyclone-hit areas of Visakhapatnam district and neighbouring Vijayanagaram district.
