Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Thursday that party vice president Rahul Gandhi was leading the party from the front and raising issues concerning people inside and outside the parliament.
"Rahul Gandhi has come with new ideas, new thoughts. He is ready to lead which is a welcome step for the party and the nation. Mr. Gandhi has entered politics not for any post but for service of people," Scindia said at news channel Aaj Tak's 'Manthan' conclave here.
He said Congress president Sonia Gandhi has led the party from the front along with former prime minister Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi was now leading it from the front.
Accusing the Narendra Modi government of not adequately helping farmers who were in distress due to loss of their crops in unseasonal rains, he also opposed its contentious land bill, which is being examined by joint parliament committee.
