Rain lashed the eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh as well as the Allahabad district on Monday, damaging standing crops in many places.
Heavy showers were reported from Varanasi, Bhadohi (Sant Ravidas Nagar), Kaushambi, Mirzapur and Pratapgarh districts. A heavy hailstorm struck Ghoorpur and other parts of Allahabad district.
Standing Rabi crop has been damaged at many places of the state.
The Rabi crops are sown around mid-November, after the monsoon is over, and harvesting begins in April/May.
Regional Meteorological department Officials said on Monday morning that the eastern and western parts of the state would continue to experience such weather conditions over the next 24 hours.
