A case was registered against a Rajasthan minister after a woman accused him of raping her, police said.
A first information report (FIR) was registered against Minister of State for Dairy and Rural Industries Babu Lal Nagar under sections 376 (rape) and 323 (causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code at Sodala police station here Tuesday, police inspector Bhawani Singh told IANS.
Nagar represents Dudu assembly constituency in Ajmer district.
"The complainant is a married woman. She had approached a court recently accusing the minister of raping her at his government residence in Civil Lines area Sep 11," Singh said.
The officer added that the court asked police to register the FIR Monday.
"We received the court orders today (Tuesday). The FIR will be forwarded to the CID for further investigation," said the officer.
