Raje visits hospital where Jaswant is admitted

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Friday visited the hospital in Delhi where former union minister Jaswant Singh was admitted after he suffered a head injury.

"Raje met the family members of Jaswant Singh in the hospital and prayed for his early recovery," the state government said in a statement.

Raje was accompanied to the Army Hospital (Research and Referral) by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Minister of State for Power Piyush Goyal and parliamentarians Bhupendra Yadav and Ramcharan Bohra.

Meanwhile, prayers were organised in Jaswant Singh's hometown Barmer for his speedy recovery.

"People here are shocked to hear this news. He is one of the top leaders of the state," said R.K. Singh, a resident of Barmer.

"Prayers were organised in temples and mosques in Barmer, Balotra and Jasol for his well-being. We are sure our leader will soon be hale and hearty," said Mahendra Singh, a local entrepreneur.

In Jasol, where Jaswant Singh was born, women were seen with tears in their eyes while gathering at temples.

"He is a fighter and will certainly come out of this soon," said a resident.

Jaswant Singh was expected to visit Barmer to attend a function Aug 13.
