Yoga guru Baba Ramdev Saturday told a Delhi court that he did not want to pursue the assault case filed against a man who threw ink at him during a press conference here last year. The court disposed of the case after his submission.
Appearing before Metropolitan Magistrate Prashant Sharma, Ramdev said he bore no grudge against Delhi resident Kamran Siddiqui and they both had decided against further pursuing the case.
The court disposed of the assault case against Siddiqui and imposed a fine of Rs.2,000 on him.
During the proceedings, Ramdev said he did not want to pursue the case as being a saint, he had already pardoned Siddiqui for throwing black ink on Ramdev's face while he was addressing reporters Jan 14 last year.
Siddiqui was facing trial for penal code offences under Sections 355 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour a person) and 153 (giving provocation with intent to cause riot).
Ramdev last deposed as a witness in the case Jan 22.
