Actress Raveena Tandon, who shares birthday with actress Asin Thottumkal, was looking forward to a lavish joint birthday bash Saturday. But the former decided to cancel it a few hours before the D-Day as she wants to spend the day with family.

"Asin and I are very close friends. And we share the same birthday. So, we were planning a party together where we wanted to invite all our friends from the film fraternity. Sadly, I just can't make it to the party," said Raveena.

"I've been in and out of Mumbai lately with no time for my family. My kids threatened to disown me, if I don't stay home for my birthday at least," added the 39-year-old.

The "Mohra" star said that now Asin would have the party on her own, but will drop in to wish the "Ghajini" star.

"The rest of the evening would be spent with my husband, my parents, in-laws and my two children. Plus, I've my adopted daughter Pooja, who is married and settled in South Africa, coming to Mumbai with her son on my birthday.

"He is the sweetest baby I've ever seen. I can't ask for more," said Raveena, who believes she has the most amazing husband and that her children are growing up with the right values.

The wife of Anil Thadani says she ensures her children follow a healthy diet.

"I discipline them. One of us has to. I make sure the kids eat right. I don't allow them to have junk food and aerated drinks," she said.

Raveena is all set to play a club crooner in Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet".

"I've known Anurag from the time he wrote 'Shool' for Ram Gopal Varma. He said, 'Ma'am only you can do this part'. I've two fantastic songs to perform. I can't stop humming the numbers," she said.

Luckily, Raveena is in a good shape to do song-and-dance numbers.

"Whether it was 'Tu cheez badi hai mast mast' and 'Shaher ki ladki' early in my career or 'Aa gunah karle' and 'Yeh raat' in 'Aks', I've always been lucky with my songs...In fact, I've been blessed all my life," she said.
