Midfielder Jordi Gomez has become the new footballer at La Liga club Rayo Vallecano following a free transfer until the end of the season.
Gomez, 31, on Tuesday signed for Rayo after finishing his contract at English side Wigan Athletic, with which he played 16 times this season and scored three goals, reports Efe.
The Spaniard is the second reinforcement for Rayo in this winter market, after the arrival of goalkeeper Tomas Mejias at the beginning of January.
He began his career in the Barcelona youth teams and also played for Espanyol.
Since 2008, Gomez has always been in the English Premier League; first at Swansea (2008-2009) and Wigan in two stages (2009-2014 and 2016-2017), and then finally Sunderland (2014-2015) and Blackburn Rovers (2016).
