Gabriel Xavier gave the hosts the lead at the Ilha do Retiro Stadium on Sunday before Magno Alves scored an 85th-minute equaliser, reports Xinhua.
The result left Fluminense 11th in the standings while Sport rose to 17th.
In Brasilia, a Willian Arao strike earned Flamengo a 2-2 draw with Sao Paulo.
Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri netted a brace for Sao Paulo while defender Rodrigo Caio conceded an own goal.
Meanwhile, Corinthians reclaimed a spot in the top four with a 3-1 home victory over Botafogo. Bruno Henrique grabbed a brace while Marquinhos Gabriel was also on the scoresheet for the hosts. Leandro was on target for Botafogo.
