The Congress in Rajasthan on Thursday demanded registration of criminal cases against BJP MLAs Kailash Chaudhary and Gyandev Ahuja for their statements against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.

The opposition party also demanded that the two be expelled from the assembly as well as the Bharatiya Janata Party for their alleged offensive statements against the Congress leader.

"Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje must apologise in the assembly on their behalf and the speaker should expel them from the house. Maar denge....shoot kardenge... this Taliban style of politics is unacceptable in our society," Congress leader Sachin Pilot told IANS here.

"Criminal cases must be filed against both the MLAs," he added.

Chaudhary is an MLA from Baytoo constituency in Barmer district while Ahuja is a legislator from Ramgarh in Alwar district.

Addressing a farmers rally in Baytoo, over 500 km from here, Chaudhary said on February 20: "Rahul Gandhi, who stands with the people who shout anti-India and pro-Pakistan slogans is anti-national and a traitor. Traitor should be punished, hanged and shot."

Slamming Gandhi for his support to Jawaharlal Nehru University students, Ahuja described him (Gandhi) as anti-national and said that such people should be shot dead.

Ahuja also allegedly said that condoms, alcohol bottles and cigarette butts were found everyday on the JNU campus.

Demanding the MLAs' expulsion from the BJP also, Pilot said if the BJP failed to take action, it would be seen as an act of patronage and support from the ruling party.

Pilot said the Congress leaders had filed complaints with superintendents of police in almost all district headquarters in Rajasthan to demand cases against the two BJP MLAs.

"Court cases have also been filed against Chaudhary in Jodhpur and Jaipur," Pilot said.
