Response to 'Saavli' unexpected: Shekhar Ravjiani

Singer-composer Shekhar Ravjiani, who has come out with his second Marathi single "Saavli", is overwhelmed with the response the composition has received from fans.

So far, the single has got around 80,000 hits on You Tube.

"It ('Saavli') has got huge response in the last four-five days and has got atleast 80, 000 hits on You Tube. Its beautiful that an independent song has got so much love," Shekhar said here in an interview.

Penned and directed by Marathi film "Balak Palak" fame Ravi Jadhav, "Saavili" has been sung by Shekhar along with singer Sunidhi Chauhan. The single also features superstar Shah Rukh Khan reciting few couplets in the beginning of the album.

"We never thought that this song wil have such immense reach and people will like it," Shekhar added.

Shekhar's first single "Saazni" too was Marathi, that was hit and very much appreciated.

"Saavli" is about the first love of a school boy who falls in love with his classmate.

Shekhar is also elated with the fact that his friends from film industry have liked the single too.

"Many of my friends in Bollywood like Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek (Bachchan), Farhan (Akhtar), Riteish Deshmukh, Karan Johar, Bipasha Basu, all have tweeted about it. So people are liking it," Shekhar, who along with Vishal Dadlani has given a number of successes like "Jhankaar Beats", " Om Shanti Om", "Bachna Ae Haseeno", "Anjaana Anjaani", "Ra.One" and "Student Of The Year".
