A 70-year-old retired teacher was arrested for molesting a four-year-old neighbour here, police said Monday.
Accused Babulal committed the crime in west Delhi's Palam Village area two days ago but a formal complaint was made Monday, police said.
The teacher molested the girl Saturday but she informed her family members Monday, police said.
"Babulal was arrested Monday from his house in Palam Village," said a police officer.
He was booked under penal provisions dealing with assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (PACSO) Act.
"After the medical examination of the victim, if experts suggest that a more serious crime was committed then we would slap on him additional charges under stringent penal provisions," the officer added, refusing to divulge more details about the incident.
