Two days after the Patna High Court acquitted eight people who had been convicted by a trial court for the murder of former RJD minister Brij Bihari Prasad, his wife and BJP MP Rama Devi saod Saturday this would be challenged in the Supreme Court.
"I am pained by the acquittal of all the accused and I have decided not to sit silent but to approach the apex court for justice in connection with murder of my husband," Rama Devi told reporters here.
"I will soon file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the acquittal of all the accused in the case," she said.
Rama Devi said she would appeal against the verdict as the main witnesses in the case are still alive and they would provide authentic details in the case.
A division bench of the court Thursday acquitted the eight accused including former MP Surajbhan Singh, former legislators Munna Shukla, and Rajan Tiwari.
The eight accused were awarded life imprisonment by the trial court in 2009.
Brij Bihari Prasad, a criminal-turned politician, was an accused in the engineering admissions scam. He was shot dead in 1998 inside the premises of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna while he was on an evening walk.
He was a minister in the Rabri Devi government.
