Irish football team captain Robbie Keane will stay with Los Angeles Galaxy after having agreed to a contract extension, said the Major League Soccer (MLS) side.

David Beckham's former club didn't release any details about the deal, reports Xinhua.

Keane, 33, has been one of the top scorers in the MLS since moving to Southern California in August 2011, contributing 34 goals in 55 appearances including 16 goals last season.

With the help of the Irish striker, a member of MLS's Top XI in last two years, the Galaxy won back-to-back league championships in 2011 and 2012.
