The Houston Rockets beat the Detroit Pistons 114-97 with 35 points and 19 rebounds coming from NBA All-Star centre Dwight Howard.

The Rockets backcourt duo James Harden and Jeremy Lin missed the Saturday game because of injuries, reports Xinhua.

Chandler Parsons had 20 points and seven rebounds for the Rockets while Francisco Garcia added 16.

Josh Smith led the Pistons with 19 points and power forward Greg Monroe got 10 points and 11 rebounds.
