Roma stayed fourth in the Serie A table after drawing 0-0 with Chievo on Sunday.
Roma had 24 shots and over two-thirds of possession but when they did manage to find the target they found Sorrentino, Chievo's goalkeeper, unbeatable, reports Xinhua news agency.
The 38-year-old keeper bravely saved close-range efforts from the returning Patrik Schick and Gerson, who gave way to Edin Dzeko as Roma pressed harder, but to no avail, in the second half.
Sorrentino was also crucial in efforts from Maxime Gonalons, Aleksandar Kolarov and when a defender deflected Schick's shot.
Chievo moved up to 10th on 21 points following the draw.
