Rome, Aug 12 (IANS/AKI) Police said on Friday they had arrested two Romanians accused of attempting to rob a female tourist in central Rome and of punching a passer-by who intervened.
The Romanians allegedly tried to snatch the tourist's bag late on Thursday in Rome's central via Nazionale shopping street near the central rail station.
They punched a passer-by on the face when he came to her aid. The man managed to flag down a passing patrol car and police detained the Romanians.
The suspects, 33-year-old SN and 21-year-old BP, face charges of assault and attempted robbery.
