Pawan Kalyan-starrer Telugu action-drama "Attarintiki Daaredhi" (AD) collected Rs. 10.89 crore in Andhra Pradesh on its opening day.

The movie released Friday.

"The film (AD) has broken the previous opening day record in Andhra Pradesh held by Junior NTR-starrer 'Baadshah'. It has raked in approximately Rs. 10.89 crore in the state thanks to the positive word of mouth since its first show on Friday morning," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.

"Baadshah" reportedly minted over Rs. 9 crore on the first day when it released earlier this year.

"AD has done exceptionally well in Tamil Nadu and other states as well. All India total could easily be around Rs. 12 crore and above on Friday. It is expected to increase over the weekend," he added.

Made on a budget of Rs. 55 crore, AD also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Pranitha, Nadhiya and Boman Irani. The film is directed by Trivikram and produced by B.V.S.N Prasad.

The film is also doing well in the US.

"The film creates history in US, collects Rs. 2.67 crore on Thursday from paid previews. It is sure to set new benchmarks," posted trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his Twitter page.
