Russian envoy condoles Katyal's death

Russian Ambassador to India Alexander M. Kadakin on Thursday condoled the death of veteran journalist K.K. Katyal, saying he would be remembered as a "true friend of Russia".

In a condolence message to his family, the envoy said Katyal "was part of many significant events. In Russia, he will forever be remembered as a true friend of our country. He was a longstanding personal friend of mine."

Veteran journalist and former Chief of Bureau of The Hindu in New Delhi Katyal died in a New Delhi hospital on Wednesday after a brief illness. He was 88.
