A two-day conference on disaster response agencies with representatives from Saarc member nations participating will begin here on Thursday.
Representatives from National Disaster Management Authority, National Institute of Disaster Management, and senior officers from the nodal ministries, besides others, will attend the meet.
The event has been organised by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), an official statement said.
The conference will discuss modalities and requirements for the main exercise which is to be conducted at the NDRF base in Ghaziabad from November 23 to 26.
India is organising South Asian Annual Disaster Management Exercise - 2015 to provide a platform for sharing of best practices on all aspects of disaster risk reduction, strengthening regional response and coordination for disaster management among the Saarc nations, it added.
