Actor-director Sachin Pilgaonkar's forthcoming Marathi movie "Ekulti Ek", which marks his golden jubilee in showbiz, will be simultaneously premiered in five theatres in five cities in Maharashtra.
A day before its theatrical release, "Ekulti Ek", which also launches Sachin's daughter Shriya, will have virtual premiere May 23.
"A film is made for its viewers, but they are kept deprived from the premiere show...I therefore thought it important to show them the premiere. On the happy occasion of the golden jubilee of my career in the film industry, this virtual premiere is a small repayment of the debt I owe to my viewers," Sachin, who debuted as a child actor with 1962 Marathi film "Ha Majha Marg Ekla", said in a statement.
The movie will be shown to viewers in UFO digital theatres located in five different places in Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nashik and Aurangabad.
Sachin, who has worked in Bollywood movies like "Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se", "Satte Pe Satta", "Trishul" and "Sholay", will address the audience from an UFO studio here along with Shriya and actor Ashok Saraf.
"We at UFO Moviez are happy to provide our unique digital cinema technology to Sachin Pilgaonkar to support the virtual premiere of his new film 'Ekulti Ek', starring his daughter, across five different places," Ashish Malushte, chief financial officer, UFO Moviez India, said.
"We are confident that Sachin's new film 'Ekulti Ek' will break box office records and his daughter Shriya will make a very successful debut," he added.
