Robinho could be fit for Santos' clash in the Brazilian Serie A football league with local rivals Sao Paulo slated for Sunday after a scan showed no serious damage to his right thigh.
It was feared that the player, who has been loaned out by AC Milan, faced an extended period on the sidelines after being forced off early in Santos' 2-0 victory over Atletico Paranaenese, Wednesday, reports Xinhua.
But Santos coach Oswaldo Oliveira did not rule out the 30-year-old's availability for Sunday's fixture at the Morumbi stadium.
"His scan did not show any serious damage," Oliveira said. "I don't like to go into details about medical conditions because it's not my area. But the injury is not serious and we are going to try to speed up his recovery."
Robinho rejoined his former club earlier this month on a season-long loan from the Rossoneri, as AC Milan are known.
Santos are currently seventh in Brazil's Serie A standings with 23 points while Sao Paulo are fourth with 29 points.
